한화 김승연 회장이 2009년 10월 9일 창립 57주년을 맞아 기념사에서 ‘공격경영'을 선언했다.
한화그룹 회장인 김승연 회장은 이날 창립 기념사에서 “지금까지가 위기극복과 생존을 위한 ‘수비형 경영’이었다면, 앞으로는 글로벌 비젼을 펼칠 수 있도록 사업기회를 선점해 나갈 것”이라며 공격형 경영으로의 전환을 밝혔다.
김 회장은 또 “쉼 없는 쟁기질이 봄을 재촉한다”며 “희망의 쟁기질을 멈춘다면 훗날 승자의 만찬에 초대받지 못할 것”이라고 지속적인 경영혁신도 주문했다.
김 회장은 기념사에서 인천화약공장 옛 부지에 한화기념관을 건립하겠다는 계획도 밝혔다.
그는 8일 오후 정몽구 현대·기아자동차그룹 회장의 부인인 고 이정화 여사의 빈소를 조문하는 자리에서 기자들이 대우인터내셔널 인수의향을 묻자 “검토조차 안해봤다”며, 그간 시중에 거론되었던 대우인터내셔널 인수설(說)을 부인했다.
한화는 최근 한화리조트와 한화개발, 한화63시티 등 레저3사를 통합했으며 한화손해보험과 제일화재의 합병을 추진하는 등 사업구조조정에 박차를 가하고 있다.
